Miss You Like Crazy

UPDATE:

the movie is now available at our website at www.evergreensalesusa.com. Make sure to grab your copy now while supplies last.

I watched the movie myself and I was really excited to see a new movie from the romantic duo. It was surprisingly well written. I think this is Bea Alonzo’s comeback movie. John Llyod showed great acting skills. I’ve had a friend say, “He’s the new Aga Muhlach.” The camera directions was just right, but it lacked gradual transitions. Overall, it was a good movie for a date night.

The most sought out screen couple is now back with a new hit, “Miss You Like Crazy.” (John Llyod) Alan Alvarez stars as an ambitious man on the verge of a promotion and is on a stable relationship with his girlfriend, Daphne Recto (Maricar Reyes). Everything seems to be going well for him, but is it really what he wants?

After working in Kuala Lumpur as a front desk clerk, Mia Samonte (Bea Alonzo) is back in Manila for the holidays. She hopes to have a break from working hard, but her family gets into a crisis that leaves her in dire need of help and comfort.

Both seem unlikely to meet, but a ferry boat ride changed it all. Will the two find some common ground and find love? Watch out for the latest romantic film on EVERGREEN SALES where you can find the best Filipino movies and music.

The Event – Pacquaio Vs Clottey

March 4th, 2010

For many Filipinos, we ask Who is Joshua Clottey? joshua-clottey– He is known as “The Hitter” and “The Grand Master,” Joshua Clottey is one of the few world-class fighters to hail from the African nation of Ghana, joining the great Azumah Nelson and former welterweight champion Ike Quartey.  The Ghanaian was originally scheduled to face Mexico’s Michel Rosales on Jan. 16, but scrapped that bout to get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to tangle with the pound-for-pound king.

Pacquiao and Clottey share one thing in common: Both have fought Miguel Cotto. The Puerto Rican star escaped with a split decision victory over Clottey , who stood his ground and traded bombs with Cotto throughout their fight on June 13, 2009.

pacquiao-vs-clotteyManny Pacquiao – Joshua Clottey world welterweight championship has been announced. The bouts will take place prior to Pacquiao-Clotty at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Saturday, March 13th.

Valentine’s Day

February 11th, 2010

Valentine’s Day is special to some people. Personally, I do not celebrate it. I wish it was a holiday (no office!, no school!). Since it is a big deal all over the world, I’ve always wondered how Valentine’s day came about. The history of Valentine’s day is interesting. It is a bit vague, but there are facts that might interest you. According to to the Greeting Card Association, an estimated one billion valentine cards are sent each year, making Valentine’s Day the second largest card-sending holiday of the year. Approximately 85 percent of all valentines are purchased by women.

Valentine’s Day is the day when you get to relax with a friend or with a loved one. A day spent in leisure in front a flat screen tv is the way to celebrate it. Grab some popcorn and visit our website for the latest romantic movies.

Patient X

February 6th, 2010

patient_x_1

Have you seen the poster?

I think it speaks for itself. The one word that I could think of is “disturbed.” I have high hopes for this film. It looks like it has potential. Sometimes horror movies are created for the sole purpose of scaring people. I’m all for it because that is one of the factors that make a good horror film. But a good movie should also tell a story.

Patient X is about Twenty years after his brother was murdered, Lucas (Richard Gutierrez) returns to his hometown to face the captured killer. Imprisoned in a hospital basement, Guada (Cristine Reyes) is not just any cold-blooded criminal. Even more dangerous, she is an aswang (a folkloric Filipino vampire-like creature), and creatures like her attack the hospital to get her back. Once again, Lucas relives tha nightmare and must stop it once and for all.

The cast includes TJ Trinidad and Miriam Quiambao. This is a reunion movie of Richard Gutierrez and Director Yam Laranas, who have worked together in another hit horror flick, “Sigaw”.

Spring time cleaning

February 5th, 2010

Spring time cleaning is the day when you throw out all the garbage. Take a good look at your room and you’ll notice what a mess it really is. Now is the time to clean it up and start fresh. A way to do this is cleaning out ugly music, choosing new ones and starting fresh on good films.

No one can ever throw out a good Piolo Pascual Cd or dvd. But I think all the other ballad songs are out. It is time for some fun and upbeat music. It has been a season of endless rain and cold weather, bring some warmth to your music. Pop is never out. It might get outdated, annoying and repetative, but it is never to be thrown away. The past year has been a challenge not only for the Filipinos, but for the whole world. We have lost a well loved President, the king of Pop and a lot of people in the earthquake in Haiti. Spring is the time to remember and hope for a better future. Watching some good dvds will help surely comfort your battered souls. It is the time to search for the latest romantic-comedy films for Valentine’s Day and watch horror movies for those who are bitter.

I Love You, Goodbye movie review

January 27th, 2010

I was never much a fan of Derek Ramsey. To me, he looked like an ordinary tall and tanned guy. But watching the movie, I can see his appeal to the masses especially to the ladies. He was a great supporting actor. It was shortlived, but still good. Angelica Panganiban was the star of the film. I think she’s a good actress, but she needs a bit more experience. I do believe she can be great in the showbiz industry. This is her third film for the Manila Film Festival. I like all her drama scenes which made it real. The other character in the movie is Gabby Concepcion. I was disappointed because I expected more from him. I loved his old movies becuase he could really act. Kim Chui was also in the movie. It is her first movie without Gerald Anderson. I loved the cameo by Angel Locsin. I think she makes any movie better with her in it because she always looks great.

Summary of the film:

All her life, Lizelle Jimenez (Angelica Panganiban) has always searched for love. When she met Dr. Adrian Benitez (Gabby Concepcion), she couldnt ask for more. He showered her with love and affection and she has never felt so special. There is one thing Lizelle is struggling with as they live together- fitting in Adrians world. Coming from humble beginnings, Lizelle finds it difficult to belong in Adrian’s high-class society especially because Ysa (Kim Chiu), Adrian’s teenage daughter, despises her and makes her feel so unwanted.

As Lizelle tries her best to belong in Adrian’s world, she meets Gary Angeles (Derek Ramsay), the seductive photographer whom Ysa has been dating. Lizelle finds in Gary the comfort and acceptance she’s been longing for. There are no pretenses when she is with him. They share a love so passionate that as they give in to an affair, Lizelle is caught in a tangle of secrets, truths and lies that she has to confront. In the end, Lizelle has to choose between the two men she loves the most and eventually face the consequences of her choice.

Shake Rattle And Roll 11 releases this week!

January 26th, 2010

shake-11_b1I really enjoyed the new series of Shake Rattle and Roll 11. This year, it showed a fresh transfusion of new blood and the result is interesting compared to the past series.

In the segment “Lamanglupa”, it gives us a new interpretation of a group of friends whose camping trip suddenly turns into a nightmare when they find themselves being relentlessly pursued by ferocious creatures. For some who doesn’t have a clue what a lamanglupa is.. Lamang Lupa is a Filipino term for a mythical creature that lives under the earth. They are like dieties and they are known to play with human beings with their supernatural powers. They are blood-thirsty monsters who kills and devours.

In the segment “Ukay-Ukay”, the story is about a woman who has been waiting for her ideal wedding until she found a mysterious vintage gown that she got fixated on it. She didn’t have a clue that the wedding gown was evil passed by a demented bride way back in 1948. And then her designer friend, Basti, got killed.

I enjoyed the characters over the top lines. Like, when Basti said “Fashion designer ako! Gown Ka Lang!” This segment was full of hilarious details making almost every moment worth it.

In the segment, “Ang Diablo”, the story is about a young doctor-intern, Maja Salvador, who works in a provincial hospital. She encountered a patient who is suspected to be carrying a deadly flu virus. But the girl claims that it is a demonic spirit residing in her frail body. The girl later kills herself but makes sure that the demon inside her had been transmitted to the doctor. Until, she finds herself being haunted by demonic visions.
