Ang Babaeng Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang is an adaptation of Carlo J. Caparas’ celebrated graphic novel, which in turn produced a film version in the 1980′s starring Vivian Velez and Eddie Rodriguez. In this teleserye version, it is about Homer Alcaraz (Dingdong Dantes), a young man who leads a boring life. His relationship with Helene Barrientos (Angelu De Leon), his fiancé, is falling apart and yet he is oblivious from it. He wakes up one morning, only to find Proserfina J. Valdez (Marian Rivera) an intriguingly beautiful woman, lying beside him..

Did you also know that the title in english means, “The woman pulled from my rib”. I remembered about the story of Adam and Eve.

So The Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, He took one of the man’s ribs [also translated took part of the man's side] and closed up the place with flesh. Then The Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:21-24)

I guess the title was used because it resonates the story of Adam and Eve. I think viewers can expect intrigue, deception and temptation to be the themes of the show. Temptation becuase Eve tempted Adam to eat the forbidden fruit. Deception because Eve tricked Adam to taste the forbidden fruit. It will be interesting to see some of these themes in a series and how it is portrayed. So buy a copy now and enjoy the show.
