Dingdong Dantes has finally announced that he will be playing the role of Cholo in the filipino version of “Stairway to heaven”. The only thing missing is the leading lady? Some say it would be Jennylyn Mercado or Heart Evangelista but it seems Marian Rivera is not on the List. Marian is busying doing her tv show, Darna. We would have loved to see the two take part on a tv show as they did on “Ang babaeng Hinugot sa Tadyang“.

In the Original Korean Series, Stairway to Heaven is about two childhood friends namely Han Jung Suh and Cha Song Joo who gets separated by unforseen impediments and challenges. They both fell in love with each other but things started to change when Han Jung Suh’s father remarried. Jung Suh’s life dramatically changed because of her stepmom and her daughters. Song Joo left for America and Jung Suh was left alone. Jung Suh faced difficult challenges like Amnesia, cancer and more.

The series is practically a big drama but i think it will be interesting to see how the filipino version will differ. I hope they put some comedy into the series to make it a bit more light becuase based on the plot, everything seems to be one challenge to another. Some of the things that will also happen seems to be unbelievable. Dingdong Dantes is a good actor, I hope he can bring his personality and character to the tv show. The leading lady will also be crucial to the plot. I hope they choose the right actress for the job. The show needs some filipino twist, but overall i bet filipinos will love the drama in the series.
